Expectations.

 via: equalequal

I just had a talk with my little sister and I realized how hard it is to actually live a good life. Not in a sense whereby we become rich and famous,no,I meant an actually good life whereby we are able to be compassionate towards others and are able to make others happy sincerely, while at the same be clever and successful in both this life and in the Hereafter.Even to attain knowledge itself is a huge struggle for certain people and not everyone realizes that I suppose.
In school, but not all, they taught us to be the best of the best and its kind of sad how they actually divided the students.Like you have the so-called "clever students" who are the top priority of the school and then you have the "unsuccessful students",who are ignored most of the time.Shouldn't there be equality amongst all?Shouldn't the teachers work harder to encourage the not-so-successful students to actually learn something? If they fail to do that, then its not the students who are unsuccessful but the teachers themselves that are unsuccessful,am I right?
Yes,we have to put in the effort ourselves but before we are motivated to do something,we must have a drive that pushes us towards that something.Where's the role of parents and teachers in this? Moreover,I find it unfair that the teachers pamper the top students.Every single person that goes to school is different in their own way and just because one fails to perform well in a certain topic, doesn't mean he/she is a failure. There are many types of learners i.e. kinesthetic learners, visualizer, listeners and maybe even more.Shouldn't there be more than one method to teach these students? And as for the whole learn-it-by-yourself tactic, what's the point in going to school if the teachers suggests that solution to a student?Isn't it pointless?
Another thing I can't stand about school is expectations.People always expects more in us then what we are capable of.And when a person fails to reach that level of expectations, you treat them with such a high level of disappointment.Isn't that unfair? That person already tried his/her best in reaching the goal that you dangled in front of them.Shouldn't you give them a big smile,a hug and say "Good job.You gave it your all and it was amazing" ?What happened to motivating, encouraging and supporting someone?Where have these values disappear off to?

P.s. Sorry for being overwhelmingly passionate.I just find it appalling that children nowadays have to work so hard to reach for a certain expectation that might not be what they desire for. What happened to the freedom in choosing what we want?Just saying *shrug*

A Simple Call Solved It All.

 via: equalequal
You know what? All this time,I've been worrying about pointless things and I'm glad that I was able to clear my head.Even more than that,I'm glad that you took up some of your time for me.It meant a great deal to me.I suppose that action of yours also contributed to this feeling *shrug* All I want to say is,I'm sorry for doubting you.I'm sorry for wallowing myself in my own misery and suspicion. That wasn't right at all and it was completely unfair to you.So I'm really really sorry.I hope that things can go back to how it was before and that there's no strange feelings between us.

I just realized that the title rhymes :)

Silence

Is it just me or is there a distance between us?I mean before this,we had a period where we didn't talk but now it's just uncomfortable. It's like we're strangers. It's an odd feeling.
I don't like it...

Nothing like a good prayer to start this holy month eh?Somehow I feel extremely excited for this month and I have no idea why.Perhaps there's a silver lining in one of my grey clouds? *smiles*

Walimatulurus Fi Kuala Lumbur

Assalamualaikum,

Last night we attended a wedding at a I-forgot-the-name-of-the-hall in KL.It was a wedding for a family friend's son that we met in the UK.We knew the family ever since we stayed in Birmingham but we never met the son cause he was studying medicine in Malaysia while his dad was doing his phD in the UK.It was actually a very beautiful wedding and I loved the ceiling. They booked a hall that had a starry ceiling so when the bride and groom came in,they dimmed the lights and turned on the 'starry lights' on the ceiling. So basically its like romantic walk down the aisle to their seats and there were candles at the sides of aisles so its was really really pretty.Get the picture?
Although it had some uncomfortable moments like the fact that it was a reunion for everybody who once lived in the UK.I mean I don't mind seeing them but since I'm a socially awkward freak,I get pretty tense when people talk to me.Especially when these people are interrogating me about my life. Moreover,I guess they were quite surprised to see us like how we are now since before this me and my sisters did not wear the hijabs and there were some who "commented" on that part.I mean,it wasn't that obvious when your eyes widened up when you look at us and asked us about us wearing the hijab. No no no,it wasn't obvious at all *cough cough*
Well let's just say the wedding was beautiful and I pray that the bride and groom will blessed By Allah till jannah :)

Burgers,Curly Fries and Root Beers.

I realized that guys really like junk food.Rather than having a cake, they rather trade it for a pizza or a burger with a candle on top,a couple of salty fries washed down with a cooling fizzy drink. They really are simple creatures *tut tut tut*
Well Mr Elias just sent me the photos that I've been asking for for my blog.On the 5th of July,Azeem Elias officially turned 19 *silent clap* You're old now Doc! *laughs* Well it was no fancy birthday bash.We just decided to hang out at A&W since the birthday boy hadn't had it for a while (and I secretly wanted some nice root beer tehehehe).Since my birthday surprise idea has already been stolen,I decided to bake Doc some cupcakes.I didn't really know what to give him.Was torn in between buying him a cap (but he doesn't wear any) or a shirt (but I didn't know his size).

Birthday boy with his sidekick.

Buying a gift for a guy is actually hard. You gotta really think outside the box.The only guy I've given presents to is my dad (mostly a mug with either 'I Love You Dad' or 'Best Dad In The World').You can't really count my little brother cause all I do is buy him sweets and he's already happy.Get the gist?

Muhasabah.

I live in an era whereby respect is obtained from money, beauty is unreal, religion is the cause of war and hatred, lies and violence intoxicate our minds and corrupt the innocent.I live in an era whereby its okay to murder another if he/she is different from you racially, ethically, religiously or even in appearance.I live in era whereby beauty is when a girl has to strip down to almost nothing just to be sexy or appealing in the eyes of men and modesty is a form of oppression.I live in an era whereby its okay to teach children how to hate, lie and show no respect to their elders.I live in era whereby wealth and fame is looked up to while the people who are living in poverty are left to climb their way up to this horrible hierarchy.I live in era whereby people forgot their duty as Caliphs of The Almighty and they themselves drown themselves in this ocean of worldly matters.I live in an era whereby we are so close to The Day of Judgement and I am so scared of the punishment that lies before me.

Ya Allah,I'm terrified of this world.I'm terrified of my past, present and even future. Please,do not let me stray from the Right Path.Do not let me drown in these worldly matters that continue to pull and tear me apart.Do not let me die as a kafir. Please ya Allah,I beg of you, please remind me.Continue to remind me of who I am,please.

Teddies,Doll Houses & Scrapbooks

I went to our new house yesterday and helped my dad moved a couple of boxes to my sister's room.Unexpectedly,I accidentally dropped one of the box and out comes tumbling my childhood memories.I found my teddy bears that I had ever since I was small (ever since my akikah too!),my doll houses complete with it's furnitures and families, the barn house with its farm animals and white fences, the garage and its classic convertible car,my Toy Story duo (Buzz and Woody!) and my beloved Buddy (the first plush toy my dad bought for me while we were in the UK). I also found my Yugi-Oh deck that I've collected ever since I first watched Yugi-Oh and my scrapbooks.I even found a diary I wrote while I was in primary school *laughs*

Meet Buddy :)

I thought all these pieces of my childhood were either thrown out or given away.Who would have thought that my parents had still kept it?I asked my dad about it and he told me that he wanted us to keep it and give it to our kids so that the toys can be even more precious,it's kinda like Toy Story I guess *smiles*

I managed to sneak these into my bag *giggles*
